A group of young people would meet weekly for Bible studies and fellowship. As these meetings continued, this group of individuals noticed the number of homeless or needy people surrounding them. They decided these weekly meetings would transition into a time to help these homeless people in any way they could.
This is how Immerse was created.
Immerse is a ministry that helps homeless and needy people in the Upstate of South Carolina in whatever area of life they need help in. Whether it is through their walk with the Lord, or putting new shoes on their feet, flexibility is what forms this ministry and allows it to help people in any area of life.
Willie's Story
The Immerse group was outside of Spill the Beans in Downtown Greenville, SC when a man named Willie walked by. One of the Immerse group members stopped Willie and introduced himself. He learned Willie's story and how he got to where he was. He learned that Willy was homeless and struggled with alcoholism. This member witnessed to Willie and became a stepping stone for him into a more stable life. Fast forward a couple of years later, this particular member of Immerse and Willie became best friends. He was able to provide Willie keys to his very first home. This story of transformation was one of many that Immerse witnessed.
